Where the wild boars are
Apennines, 2012

Wild boar hunting is a very important tradition for people living in rural areas of central Italy. I followed the day of the wild boar hunters and their team “la Bomba” (the bomb) on the Apennines mountains, between the regions of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.
The life of wild boar hunters starts at 5am and does not end until 8pm. It consists of a symbiotic contact with nature; long, cold waiting, silence, days, and sometimes nights, spent up in the mountains.
